Welcome to the Brass Department

Robert Domingue

Brass Teacher

Robert is originally from Colchester in Essex and began playing Cornet in the local brass band. Robert then went on to study Trumpet at Trinity College of Music completing his degree with first class honours, winning the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble prize during his studies and then touring with the World Youth Orchestra as principal trumpet.  Robert was then awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music completing a Master in Arts, during this time Robert awarded the Worshipful Company of Musicians Brass Ensemble Prize. 


Since finishing his studies Robert leads a busy freelance career performing with various orchestras such as Brandenburg Sinfonia, The London Sinfonietta, New London Orchestra, London Contemporary Orchestra and Docklands Sinfonia. Robert has also played as part of the ‘Thursford Christmas Spectacular’ Orchestra, the 'Les Miserables’ UK tour and on the UK tours with pop artists ‘Belle and Sebastian’, ‘Hawkwind’, ‘The Hoosiers’ and ‘Shed7’. 


Some of the recording sessions Robert has been part of at Abbey Road, AIR and Angel studios include working with various artists such as: Katie Melua, Rick Wakeman, Susan Boyle, Deep Purple and with ‘Clean bandit’ for a Christmas special on - BBC 1’s live lounge session. 


Robert is passionate about his commitment to education and teaching holding teaching posts at Junior Guildhall on the Brass Training Programme, Enfield Music Service as 'Head of Instrumental Tuition’ and as Brass Tutor at three independent schools in London. 

Jake Stoddart

Trumpet Teacher

Based in Deptford, South East London, Jake is a highly skilled trumpet player with a diverse background spanning jazz, rock, pop, classical, and Bollywood music. Jake studied at Trinity College of Music, and has performed on global stages, collaborating with a wide range of artists and projects that reflect both versatility and creativity.


Throughout their career, Jake has had the privilege of playing at prestigious events around the world, offering dynamic performances in various genres. This extensive experience includes live broadcasts on BBC Radio 3, and BBC Radio 6 where their skill and artistry have reached a broad audience. As a composer, Jake brings a unique voice to music, blending influences from different cultures and genres into original works.


Whether in a classroom or on stage, Jake is passionate about sharing knowledge and helping students of all levels discover their musical potential. With a commitment to fostering creativity and technical proficiency, Jake  offers an inclusive and engaging approach to trumpet teaching, tailored to each student’s needs and aspirations.

Robert is able to provide 121 tuition for the following instruments:
