Learn how to DJ and Produce Electronic Music
This class will teach you everything from how to write your own songs to how to perform live as a DJ. Discover how to produce music like your favourite artist using the latest digital software, then get behind the decks and learn how to mix songs in a live performance with techniques including beat-matching, blending, cutting and more!
From the technical aspects of operating DJ decks and digital software to learning the theory behind DJing and Music Production; from selecting the right songs at the right time to using MIDI instruments to create your own tracks; from learning the history of different genres to studying current trends; this class will encourage you to find your own style and give you the confidence to make music you love and the tools to DJ to a real life audience.
If you’re already a DJ but would like to learn how to incorporate advanced skills into your sets such as live remixing or would like to learn how to make your own edits and mashups, then this course is also for you.
Gemma Anthony’s DJ career now spans a decade, during which time she has played at top UK clubs including Fabric and Ministry of Sound; has DJed parties for the Ivor Novello Awards and London Fashion Week; and has even played a private afterparty for Beyoncé at the o2 Arena.
Under the moniker Gem Precious, she continues to DJ internationally and holds residencies at XOYO and Alexandra Palace, where she has played afterparties for Fred Again… and Fatboy Slim.
Gemma is also a Main Stage DJ for Reading Festival where she regularly plays warm up sets for the likes of Disclosure, Wilkinson and Becky Hill.
As a producer, Gemma’s original dance tracks are released independently through her own label Remodel Recordings and have received radio support from Data Transmission and Select Radio. She has been a featured artist on Kiss FM and has presented radio shows on Mi-House and Shoreditch Radio.
Gemma is also a classically trained musician, proficient in piano, flute and double bass and applies elements of music theory to her electronic music teaching.
